I love pouring into the students … I’m excited that this event is happening, and it’s just a great opportunity for them. I’m happy to be a part of it.”

Youth Alabama Economic and Community Affairs Director Grayson Haberecht met with Ashley Tool, deputy director of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). When asked how he would help upcoming ALYIG legislature participants, Haberecht said, “if I had walked in knowing a little bit more of what it was going to be like, it would’ve helped significantly with my nerves. That’s something I would like to help the new delegates come through.”
Lorelai Kindle, ALYIG’s director of Environmental Management, spoke with Lynn Battle, chief of External Affairs for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). Kindle said she is “excited to learn about how ADEM works” from Battle. When asked how she would better the program for upcoming ALYIG participants, Kindle said she can “set a really good example because [she] can get up there and speak on bills and show how you can easily be pro or con and do it politely.”
