Lieutenant Governor: Why I’m the Best Candidate

Lieutenant Governor

Skandan Ananthasekar                                                                 AGE: 16
SCHOOL: St. Paul’s Episcopal School                         GRADE: 11th        CITY: Mobile
PARENT(S) NAME(S): Kalpana Ananthasekar and Ponnambalam Ananthasekar

I am the best candidate for Lieutenant Governor because I truly believe in servant leadership. I have loved the Youth in Government program and especially Youth Legislature ever since eight grade when I participated in Junior Youth Legislature. After everything this program has done for me, from giving me the courage express my opinions to giving me the opportunity to make new friends, I want to give back by empowering and mentoring those that are new to the program. I believe the best way to do this is by being a servant leader and I hope that I am given the opportunity to be your next Lieutenant Governor.

Kenya Harris                                                                      AGE: 16
SCHOOL: Spain Park High School                                                GRADE: 11th                                      CITY: Hoover
PARENTS NAMES: Bonita and Frederick Harris

I would be a good candidate for this position because I have a passion for law and government. One day this generation is going to be in charge of the democracy and it will be up to us to make decisions. For us to learn more information now, will be more beneficial in our future. This position requires someone with leadership skills and the social skills which I have. I believe I can be a good example of a person who possesses the skills needed to fill his position.

Ellen Park                                                            Age: 16
School: Montgomery Academy                 Grade: 11                            City: Montgomery
Parents’ Name: Milton Park and Hyesun Chung

I’ve been involved with the Youth in Government programs for three years now and want a chance to give back to the program. As Lt. Governor, I will create a friendly environment in the Senate where everyone feels comfortable getting up to debate. If given the opportunity, I will use my position to serve others.
