I am the best candidate for Speaker of the House because I know what people want out of a Speaker. I have been in this program for three years now and I have heard the complaints that delegates have had about past Speakers. Because of this I know what I must do to avoid making those same mistakes.

I know how to lead by example and that’s the most important thing you have to do when you’re trying to maintain control of a crazy place like the house. Because of my experience with my school’s debate team I can handle any obstacle that comes my way and still manage to keep debate running smoothly. I want to create a place where people feel comfortable engaging in fierce debates while at the same time walking out of the chamber at the end of the day with their opponents as their new best friends. Some of my best friends from the conference are the ones that I clashed with the most and that’s what makes this kind of thing so special.
